I am suddenly, for no apparent reason (all right, I want to keep the role playing thread going), reminded of a role playing game I was in once.

It wasn't nearly as bad as DungeonMaster, but it was towards the hack-and-slash end of the spectrum. This wouldn't have been so bad, except I was playing the only character in the group with no armour and no weapons...
