I love Star Wars so much. I don't know why really,
you would think it would be like any other movie, but it isn't. It touches you in ways you could never imagine. You identify with the characters even if they are nothing like you. You love the nonsense words that are used for names, and all of the concepts of the entire movie are wonderful even if it seems to be a whole BUNCH of nonsense.
It constantly makes you laugh, especially when Threepio and Artoo argue. The special effects aint bad either, even the old effects are good. The bad guys are genuinely terrifying. There is a deep moral thread running through the whole series. Good and bad are portrayed properly, good vs. evil is shown like never before, decency is everywhere in this movie. No over-the-top amounts of violence, no sex whatsoever, and the most nudity you'll find is Leia and the bikini and Jabba's dancers, but the thing about that it to portray evil, you can't just show jabba laughing and telling people they're gonna die, you've gotta show they DO to make an impression. Emotions are everywhere in Star Wars. People are redeemed, people are betrayed, people are forgiven, people fall in love, all sorts of emotions flow evenly through the series. All in all, the Star Wars movies, books, toys, etc are gifts from god, because they are a great escape from reality and teach right and wrong. It's not just sheer entertainment value, it's meaningful and thought-provoking. Star Wars is what everybody should see at least once. It's much bigger than a movie. It's an important part of our culture.
