Heheh. I loved reading your story, Don. Please let us know of any more developments.
Also, it reminded me of my own Bus Crush I had a few years ago. I once rode the same bus every morning, and there was a good-looking guy with red hair who always sat across from me. When involved in mundane things like riding the bus, I often entertain myself by forming mini-crushes on whomever is around. Anyway, I shared a commute with this man every morning for six months, but I always avoided the eye contact he tried to make. One morning, I sneaked a look at him, and he was staring RIGHT AT ME. Not in a leering or creepy way, mind you, just a direct gaze. I jerked my head down and turning boiling red, and I just knew he was watching me turn red. I stared at my maid's apron for the rest of the trip, and my face was set in a perma-blush until he got of the bus. When he was off the bus, I peeked out at him again, and there he was, looking at me, and smiling in an amused way. I wanted to die.
The back-and-forth body language ended a month later, however. I had just started dating one of the hostelers who liked to walk with me to the bus stop, and then kiss me goodbye when I boarded. RedHairBusMan saw us, and so it sort of took the fun out of our "courtship". I never spoke to him, and the crush ended when I left Memphis. But I enjoy remembering him, because it is a good example of how how silly people act when they are attracted to someone. I always enjoy flirting---especially the no-talking, mysterious variety that is never intended to progress.
