A night of interconnected dreams
Dream #1
I'm in a nightclub, interviewing philosophers, psychologists, and regular people about the nature of man for a research project I'm working on. One of the first people I talk to is God, who tells me a word I can say if I'm ever in trouble. He'll come and make everything all right. The word will only work once. The last person I interview is Dr. Satan, who is sitting in a red-lit area of the club. He tells me the truth but that's when I realize he's really Satan because his eyebrows don't stop moving. That and when he gets up, he leaves half of his body sitting at the table. (The left side)
It's nighttime and I'm in the parking lot trying to get into my car. I'm afraid of something. There's either something out there in the darkness or hiding in my car that will devour me. I call Yulu at the research lab but someone else picks up the phone. I ask the man to ask Yulu to look up the word God told me -- it's in my notes, and I've forgotten it. Somehow I know he won't pass on the message.
Dream #2
I must have walked to my old apartment complex from college. In this apartment complex are two small parking lots/alleys. I'm walking down the wrong one, which is crowded with cars. Someone has put a chemical on small areas of the cars, causing parts of the car's metal frame to rust and turn into smoke. I tell the woman in the toll booth this, but she doesn't believe me. All the cars are honking as if they're stuck in a traffic jam.
Dream #3
I go to where I think my apartment is and somehow appear in the bathroom. The bathroom looks different and I can hear the television set in the living room; I realize I'm in the wrong apartment. I try to quietly move things around on the window sill but make too much noise. The girl and her boyfriend open the bathroom door before I can climb out of the window. Oddly enough, they don't seem too upset to find a stranger in their house. We take out a map of Texas and indicate where all our relatives live.
Dream #4
The guy offers to drive me home and we drive around the apartment complex while I point out the changes that have been made to the place since I've been gone. Those ornate buildings over there were the worst-looking apartment buildings ever a few years back. And that area with all the new buildings was a large empty field. He drops me off and I walk to my apartment which is in a four-plex. Someone's remodeled the building in various styles. My quarter is painted jade green and looks like a Japanese shrine.
One of my old roommates is there; we have very little furniture (a sofa, two chairs, and a tray table). I admonish him for taking the larger of the two bedrooms, but he has four different beds in the room. I feel slightly guilty because I'll have more space than he does. I go to the bathroom, but it's larger than I remember.
