I don't think I've actually ever seen a movie where anyone outran, or tried to outrun, a nuclear explosion. I remember where and when it was explained to me exactly why I couldn't. That was a disturbing revelation.

There are two movies I can think of where someone manages to outrun a nuclear explosion. They are Chain Reaction and Starship Troopers. Chain Reaction was just plain awful, but Starship Troopers was entertaining. I'm not saying it was a "great" movie, but I didn't have a problem watching it. At least not until the characters outran a nuclear explosion! ; )
