I think the sports gene began to kick in when I was about 8. I do know that I liked watching sports then, but, my attention span was too short to stay in front of the TV for 3 hours straight, so I often ran outside to re-enact what I had seen on the screen. This was probaly a good thing, though. Now it is easy to sit on the couch and watch a whole game (but only if I'm rooting for one of the teams *or* it is an important game, such as the playoffs).

My dad definitely has the sports gene but my brother's gene never fully developed. I know that when I'm talking to my dad, even if there is nothing else to talk about, we always have sports.
