Actually, my reporter instincts weren't nearly as strong as my journalist instincts were. I was thinking, "This could lead to an interesting column about racism and acceptance of others." If I could, I think I would like to write columns, rather than be a full-time reporter. Of course, I could just do both. And, having never had my own weekly (or, worse yet, daily) column, I really don't know what I would be getting myself into.
