best & worst of 2000 posted by syrinx on Sunday, December 17, 2000, at 21:42:49:
I have to admit that this was really hard. I can't seem to be able to just scan through the year and pick out the highs and the lows. I think this year must have been one with lots of little bumps instead of a few big ones. But I'll give it a try:
Worsts of 2000: Spending too much time at work. This one's hard because I LOVE my work, but it takes up a lot of time both at my dancing studio and away from it. It also involves very anti-social hours, often working until 10-11pm as well as all weekend. I've neglected my friends and family, and only get to see a lot of them about once a month.
Best of 2000: Weird, but I must be obsessed. My studio has grown HUGE! This year, my enrolments outnumbered my friend's dance studio. She has been teaching for 30 years. I've been teaching for 4. Plus my students have started to stand out. Winning and placing at State level in Ballroom competition, Jazz, Tap, Drama and Singing. I have felt so proud of them and how I've helped a lot of children get some pride in themselves. I've watched some very shy kids get on stage for the first time and sing on their own. We had a Christmas concert where most of the kids had never been on stage, and they were buzzing! It was wonderful to watch their faces.
Anyway, I'll stop now, cecause I'm sure I could rave all day about what a wonderful experience it was.

P.S. If I wasn't working such anti-social hours, I probably wouldn't have spent one late night-time exploring the net, and I probably wouldn't have found Rinkworks! So a best has come out of the worst!
