The theory is that she was down at the creek and followed it the wrong direrction. She was gone for ten days and wound up eight miles from home. Some kids found her two days ago, took her home and gave her plenty of affection while fattening her up. They were looking for Blackie's owner when they saw a notice on a school bulletin board. One phone call and Blackie was on her way home.

There was a lot of truth in that one.
I really am looking for a '46 Ford Club Coupe. It would be nice if I could find the one I had in college. I can't afford to restore one right now, but if I had one and could get it running, I would be happy.
I really did get some ladderback chairs from a barn for a dollar. I later sold them but didn't make a lot of profit. The going price on chairs like that with the cane seat broken is about $5 each.
I really would like to find a bike like the one I bought in 1946. It was a 26 inch Belknap with fat tires and a headlight on the front fender. I named it Elmer.
I bought a Daisy BB gun the other day for six bucks but the one I had as a kid was about 50 years older. It was stolen off our back porch in 1948. One thing I like to tell kids is to put things away in a safe place when you quit using them, because someday they will be priceless. They may be worth a little money, but I say priceless because they are part of your personal history.
I didn't get sentimental recently. I've always been that way.
