Sam, I'm going to sue you! That new-fangled ballot was far too much for my feeble intellect to handle, and I think there is a chance that it may be possible that I could have accidentally voted for Pat Buchanon, and I didn't even know that he wrote a book! I'm also completely sure beyond a doubt of which I am aware that bajillions of my peers were also utterly befuddled to the point they voted incorrectly or were disenfranchised and did not vote at all. I represent all these people, and to follow the clear will of the people, you must override the actual results of the election and count all those votes mistakenly cast for other books and those votes not cast in the first place as really counting towards the book I meant to vote for!
