I think you hear "soda" in California more than "Coke" as the generic term. When I ask for a Coke, that's what I want, and, although I can't sue, I get mad when they bring me Pepsi without mentioning that it isn't Coke. If all they have is Pepsi products, I order Root Beer or Mountain Dew.

When you are in Georgia, especially around Atlanta, finding a Pepsi is hard to do. Fine by me.
