Here is the list I sent my brother (in its entirety):

My List:
-Wrenches. Socket wrences, crescent wrenches, regular wrenches, or whatever else may be useful to me. This is mainly one for Dad to pick out, since he will have the best idea of what would be good.
-A Hammer. I have the little brass one, but it is mainly for display purposes.
-A rubber mallet. I have helped too many people put together things which needed a rubber mallet, and always had to make do with a makeshift solution.
-A tape measure. Measuring things is good.
-Black socks. No fancy thin dress socks, but plain old socks like the white ones we wear every day, only solid black.
-White dress shirts. 17 or 17-1/2 neck, 34/35 sleeve. 40% cotton/60% polyester (or maybe the other way around-- any cotton/polyester blend close to 50/50 should be good.
-Boxer shorts. I like cotton ones that basically look like shorts (i.e. you could wear just them, and people might not notice, except for the patterns.) I like large or extra large. Denver Hayes boxers from Mark's Work Warehouse are particularly good, especially the extra large.
-A gift certificate for somewhere I can buy shoes. I need new running shoes, but would rather pick them myself and possibly put some of my own money into them.
-A new hard drive. 7200 rpm, and anything less than about 20GB is probably not worth looking at.
-A new monitor (yeah right.) If somebody won the lottery this week and didn't tell me, I would like either an LCD flat screen or at least a 19" traditional monitor.
-A guitar. The one I have been using for the last two years or so is going back to its owner, and I would like something to play. Not high on my list, though, since I rarely have time to play anyway, and would probably want to pick out my own guitar if I got one.
-A new girlfrind. I miss Amanda terribly. Actually, come to think of it, I should probably pick that out myself. How about a gift certificate for a new girlfriend?
