Most likely, they'd say, "I'd like a Coke, please." The waiter would then bring them a Pepsi. Both people would think that what just happened is normal.
My father-in-law, who once lived in Denver and actually worked for Pepsico for years still refers to any caramel-colored soft drink as a "Coke", despite him not liking Coca-Cola and me constantly serving him a Coca-Cola each time he says "Coke".
