How To Ruin a Salad

I went to a bar & grill / restaurant that I generally have a fairly decent amount of respect for awhile back. With my dinner I got a salad, and I requested my usual oil and vinegar dressing. I was a touch put off to see the dressing served in little plastic cups, but can accept that, since it's not a terribly popular dressing choice nowadays (didn't even appear on the salad dressing poll way back when), and fancy serving cruet sets can be a bit pricy. So I forgave them for that. Until I looked into the cups, anyhow.
Both cups were filled with clear liquid.
Yes, that's right; they served me *canola* oil with my salad (glossing over the fact that they apparently also served white wine vinegar - distinctly *not* the first-choice dressing vinegar). I may as well have requested water and vinegar. I mean, serving dressing in little plastic cups lacks class, but serving canola oil (especially without any prior warning) is just utterly tasteless.
Okay, I'm done now. :-}
