Good luck with your audition!

I have a bad habit of messing up auditions...So I audition for as many things as possible so I get more used to it, ya know? I'm actually getting better, and I've learned that furiously practicing pieces five minutes before you go in only serves to make you more scared. And I read somewhere that when the blood goes out of your fingers and other extremeties (due to nervousness making your body going into "fight or flight" mode) your best bet is to stretch and work out your "big" muscles in your arms and legs. Lucky for me, the district band (similar to the band you're trying out for, I assume) this year (they split up my state into give different districts...my district is the best 'cause we have chicago and all that) was a breeze - my school automatically gets to contribute two clarinets and then they just sent you in by seating (I'm the best in my class, so I just got in) Everyone else had to drive miles away and spend the whole whole day dealing with audition silliness. I'm glad I didn't, I hate that...
