On a somewhat lighter note... posted by Sakura on Friday, December 8, 2000, at 18:43:25:

Not only are the requirements (a solo, scales, and sight-reading, as in the Junior High) tougher, but I will be facing a much higher caliber of competition. I'll be going up against people with four or more years more experience than I have. Needless to say, I probably won't make it in, but I'm giving it my best shot... > I'll post the results when I get them, and maybe a post about the audition tomorrow after it's done. > > Saku"Here goes nothing..."ra
Good for you! If nothing else, try to have fun. After all, isn't music supposed to be something to enjoy? Believe it or not, I used to get extremely nervous at piano recitals when I was younger. Looking back on it now, I can understand that the audience who so terrified me merely wanted to hear music, not critique my every note. If you can get the audience (even the judges, in your case) to see that you are *enjoying* yourself, that's half the battle. So maybe some of the other people have more experience than you do. If the judges can see that you truly love music and *want* to be in the band, I think they will see your talent.
