Well, I spent a long time thinking things over and I wrote up a fairly lenghty post (As in, about 6 pages) for my reasonings. Upon re-reading it, however, the /real/ reason why I think I reacted negatively basically boils down to this:

Wormwood came into the other channel (which only I was in before) and said something to the effect of "I don't like being blamed. It's not fun or exciting. Ever." and then he stated that he had no part in the incident. I believed him. My thoughts about the whole thing at that time was basically "Someone is playing a joke and a friend is being hurt because of it." Once I think that someone is being hurt by a 'joke', I can not find it funny, no matter what happens after.

I think that, compared to this reason, all the other factors that were involved are pretty much insignificant.

Don't be discouraged from trying out new things to make the chat less dull because of this one event though. I believe that your intents were good, although it didn't work out. And hey, 2 out of 3 in one night isn't all that bad.
