> As I posted before, Friday was my grandfather's funeral. I took Thursday off to spend reflecting on life and stuff. I went for a walk, wrote some, ate at a diner, relaxed. Friday was very nice. My brother stayed with me Thursday night and we drove out to my grandparent's town Friday morning. The service was nice. It was great to see so many faces I hadn't seen in a while. There weren't too many tears, but enough. Plenty of laughter and my dad's eulogy was nice. He almost didn't make it through to the end. I felt very joyful about the whole thing because I knew my grandpa well and knew this was for the best in so many ways. It is an interesting thing, observing people's reactions to death. I heard a lot of great stories from family and friends and cherish that a lot.

Those double-whammies really do hurt. You'll have a new job soon and your grandfather will always be with you. I lost my parents and all of my grandparents many years ago, but I still think of them and remember the good times.
