I have a friend who works for Northwest Airlines. Last night, for the second time in the last 2 months, she took me out to their training headquarters and got me time in their 747 full motion simulator. I am now one of the few non-pilots on the planet that has a total of 6 hours of valid flight time flying "the whale," as it's known.

you'll be pleased to know that I managed to land the thing 3 times without incident, but there WAS that nasty rip-the-wings-off thing when I decided to try for a loop ;)



I'm thinking about writing an article about this for the various flight magazines ;)
