er, uh, well, whatever posted by Howard on Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at 08:46:35:
Maybe it was ROFL ("Rolling on floor laughing").
There's also ROFLASTC ("ROFL and scaring the cat", - valid only if you have a cat that runs away when you roll on the floor laughing), other than ROFL and LOL.
Somewhere I should have an old (about 1988, when I was a point on the FidoNet) document that explains a lot of acronyms, like: IMHO = in my humble opinion (there's also IMNSHO= in my *not so humble* opinion) AKA = also known as ASAP = as soon as possible (i.e. "I'll reply ASAP") AFAIK= as far as I know
...and so on.
AP, remembering those years when my address was 2:331/310.7 (well, I had five points on the FidoNet, just as a backup...)and the top of the line modems were 2400BPS V22/V22bis (their cost was twice as an actual V90 modem).
