That's not always true. I live about half an hour away from the Great Salt Lake (If the wind is just right you can REALLY smell it. YUCK!)and we get lots and lots of snow. Our states license plate says "The greatest snow on earth" and that is Because of the lake. It makes our snow really nice and powdery.

I LOVE the mountains. I live right smack in the center of the Rockies. It is absolutely fantastic. I have relatives who live in Idaho and every time we go to see them I absolutely hate it because where they live you can see clear to the horizon. That is one of the worste things I could ever describe.
