I donated blood for the first time in my life last month. The Finnish Red Cross came to our university and we had some kind of competition between our guilds. I do, too, hate needles. Even the thing that pops a hole in my finger to take some blood to measure the iron count sometimes makes me jump up. I found, by the way, that my iron count is near the *upper* limit.
