Every morning whenever we crack open the front door, my cat Pixel alertly scuttles towards the door without fail.

The doorway isn't really "open". There's a clear full-length glass pane over the outside main door. It gives a nice view of our lawn and our two maple and linden trees, and of the neighbours across the street.

Our emergency backup feline, Fat Cat Scaredy Tat, simply stares through the glass door, placidly, with her huge limpid green eyes.

But that doesn't distract Pixel from her daily scuttle. I swear, one of these days we'll wake up, and she'll have painted her face in blue and run along howling the benighted cry, "FREEDOM!"
