I don't think the British are known for their foods, chocolate or otherwise. Much of the rest of Europe, however, is prized for it. But I think that perception is an illusion created by the inherently daunting nature of a European name. How can the brand name "Hershey" possibly compete with something like "Lindt" ? > > I'm frankly not all that fond of most British candy bars -- their Mars bars (equivalent to our Milky Ways) are less by comparison, for example. I don't even like Lindt, and if I had Toblerones and Smarties every day, I'm sure I'd be at least as excited about finding a 100 Grand as I am about finding either of those now. > > *shrug* Maybe it's just me. You're right, Sam. Most of that chocolate my daughter brings back from her London trips is from Belguim, or France, or Germany. It's been a while since I was in England, but I remember that the food was rather nondescript. We had to go to Wales to get a descent meal. Howard
