big honkin' reply-no need to read posted by MarkN on Wednesday, November 15, 2000, at 17:03:12:
To be perfectly blunt, this post was a humongous waste of time.
1. You still have not addressed any of the counterarguments to your irrational stance that the government should not be involved in education.
2. In continuing to skirt around this issue, you have merely repeated, multiple times in just this one message, the same tenets you've been touting since the beginning of this debate, and they're still as unsubstantiated by actual evidence as they were before.
3. You are continuing to throw up smokescreen issues to distract from the issue at hand (retirement savings has nothing to do with education; I would agree with you that the government being involved in a mandatory retirement savings plan is the most insidious overextension of our government currently in practice, but SO WHAT?).
It's ok if you disagree. It's not ok if your posts continue to repeat, rather mindlessly, your position, over and over again. WE KNOW WHERE YOU STAND. We want to SUPPORT your position, to ADDRESS our arguments to the contrary. Future posts you make to this thread that do not give answers to these long outstanding requests will be summarily deleted.
