"Fifty-two bicycles, after a fashion...WORK, WAR, TREASURE, PASSION. What am I?"

I learned this riddle in college from a friend. I could not for the life of me figure it out. After he had me stumped, he gave me the answer.

Our local city news and entertainment, etc. web site sends out an email called an "e-lert" every Thursday. It usually has a brain teaser included, and you have to go to the web site to find out the answer.

A couple weeks ago, I noticed the credit given to whoever had submitted the brain teaser. And you can win a free T-shirt if your submission gets used! So I sent this riddle in. And then promptly forgot all about it, except every week when they sent the e-lert out...

...well, today, early this morning, I get an email from "Rhonda Havig," apparently the person who coordinates these e-lert things. Congratulations, she says, your brain teaser is going to be used in today's e-lert! Wow! They're sending me a free T-shirt.

I like T-shirts.
