Deuteronomy 22:5. Hey, you were paying attention. :-) I threw that in, by way of example in comparison to the sin of homosexuality, because cross-dressing is another of those sins which was enumerated as being an 'abomination' before God. And in the NT, Paul does reiterate again that women must dress in a manner respectful to worship, i.e. with a head covering while praying (1 Corinthians again). I note that my NIV study notes regard Paul's views as being his own opinion on social customs, and not God's; but the passage still remains controversial.

What does this mean? My guess is that this requires that women are meant to be women, and men to be men. That's why there's an emphasis on finicky little details regarding sexual matters in Scripture. The message being given is that sexuality is linked to spirituality in ways which aren't overtly apparent. Some people probably will not like that thought, I imagine.
