BTW have you ever heard of Guideposts Magazine? Every year they have a student writing contest with scholarships as the prizes. (Top prize is a $10,000 scholarship) This is *exactly* the type of story they are looking for. Who knows, you could be a winner! I rooted around their website (see link) but didn't find the specific rules posted (what I linked was guidelines for general submissions...) but take a look yourself, I may have missed it. The rules *are* in the October issue, if you can't get ahold of that somewhere I'd be willing to scan & email you the page if you're interested. The deadline for this year's contest is Nov 27th.
