I read this post over again and found this part rather amusing. I don't need to fear a Senate committee! Unlike other American citizens, that quake in fear of Senate committees being suddenly called to determine the fates of unsuspecting non-worshippers of the government?

Now I'm intensely curious as to what kind of perspective you could be coming from to even jokingly suggest that this might be my motive. You're not REALLY from the UK, are you? You're from, what, Nazi Germany? Or some tiny little eastern European country that forgot to convert to democracy when the Wall came down?

Whatever your situation, my deepest sympathies, but please do not concern yourself further with me. I'm one of the lucky ones that gets to live where free thought is legal. In fact, not only are we free to disagree with something about the government without fear of disciplinary action -- we're also free to suggest that something might possibly not be wholly execrable without fear of social exile! Hurrah for the USA!
