When Sean's aunt heard the name "Chloe," she instantly wanted to give the name to her new puppy. There was only one small problem: She heard the name from me, because I happened to be talking about my little sister. (You guessed it: My sister's name is Chloe.) For about two weeks, Sean's aunt kept bringing up the name, and every time she did, I just LOOKED at her. Sean's aunt seems to know better than to mess with me, because she finally named the dog Missy.

She never knows quite how to take that. Next time, she might come back with, "I remember you! I still wince every time someone folds up a newspaper near me!"

Wait. There's more. My ex-husband was one of those people whose family had had a dog named Heidi. When I met him, his family's dog's name was Taffy. Guess what I got called the whole week I visited them the first time?

Mou"and the dog wouldn't come when they called her my name, either"sie
