It's coming up to the third summer I've had my boat, and the thing never fails to surprise me. I thought I'd been all over it and looked in all the cupboards and little hidey-holes and crevices after the first *week* I owned it, for goodness sake.

I'm doing some major work on it at the moment - things I kept putting off, like replacing the terrifying 30-year-old freshwater pipes (we've been taking along drinking water in bottles for the last two years rather than play Bacteria Roulette with the old system) and the electrical wiring.

Today I discovered, in a place I'm *certain* I've looked every time I've been *on* the boat, a small, dusty, orange tupperware container. I never saw this thing before. On opening this Mystery Box, it turned out to contain a number of small plastic dinosaurs.

I'm assuming these belong to whoever it was who put the small plastic motorbike behind the bookshelf, which I found last year. Or the three lead divers' weights and the ten-year-old packet of instant juice mix, from when I painted under the floorboards. Either that or my boat has some sort of weird interdimensional junk generator built in. It's not *that* big a boat, where does this stuff keep coming from?
