C'mon Den... You really consider Satriani to be "techno" and... um... "electronica"? Electronica is like that French syntheticist Jean-Michel Jarré, who did the music for the Y2K sunrise at the Great Pyramids in Egypt. Joe Satriani's wide range of styles kinda defies classification. "Instrumental Rock Guitar" is about the best description I can come up with.

Well, Joe Satch did start out his career in San Francisco, where he still lives.

And the man is one great guitarist. He's awesome. I really enjoy "A Train of Angels" (who wouldn't if you heard it for the first time?) and I have a soft spot for "Lords of Karma", too. The "Engines of Creation" album is very, very good. There seems to be an underlying spiritual thematic in all his songs; but I've never been able to snag a good bio on Satriani explaining that part, so I'd like to know a little more about his views.
