Some orthodontists will tell you not to drink tea while you have braces. It seems that tea stains your teeth, and when they remove the braces you can end up with little whiter-than-the-rest-of-your-teeth squares all across your smile.

I would think that coffee might do the same thing. And smoking. Of course, the typical brace-wearer has no business smoking. Or drinking coffee, for that matter, depending on what kind of family you were raised in.
