No, that would be the rubber cover that splits when you're way out at Piha Beach and hence *stops* protecting the CV joint from sand, gravel, mud, water, salt and great big enormous rocks until you get back to Titirangi and the entire car makes a terrifying grunching sound and you realise you have virtually no brakes left and your CV joints are all messed up and you still have to get out of the Waitakere Ranges and then you're without a car for two days and it costs you a huge amount of money.
