Howard, it's *exactly* like anthracite, in the sense of being something you wouldn't deliberately eat even if you were starving to death in a desert. I'm not sure whether it was us or the Aussies who invented it. Vegemite is another brand of the same stuff. I'm not sure how you could drink a cup of it, it's a sandwich spread as Chrico says, but people who eat Marmite are capable of any atrocity.
