I respect that they tried to do something diffrent, they just didn't pull it off. A lot of the early TNG aliens wern't very convincing. Like the Binars, or the early version of the Ferangies, or Worf's first set of cranial ridges.

What I'm saying is Andromeda made a fairly good first episode. There is room for improvement, and after the first epsiode of every show there is room for improvement. Especially sci fi shows. I think Andromeda has the potential to develope in to a very good show.
