new olympic sport

Here are the rules for a new olympic sport that I have invented:
We'll call it scooterthon.
It's sort of a race with a point system. Contestants start out with a number of points equal to 100 points plus the age of the scooter plus the age of the driver. The course is a straight line, two lane paved surface 500 meters long Constants begin with a standing start, go to the far end of the course, make the turn around a padded post, and return to the start-finish line. They must come to a complete stop within ten meters after crossing the line or suffer a one-point-per-meter penalty. They are also assessed a point for each second that the scooter is moving. It might work like this if I was competing:
Age of scooter....53
Age of rider......67
100 free points..100
total............220
time.............170 sec
stop penalty.......2 meters
score.............48
Now, that might not look like a level playing field, but older scooters and older riders are slower. Also old scooters often have brakes only on the back wheel. Even those with two wheel brakes don't stop as quickly as new a scooter. New scooters also have a handling edge.
Hey, I had to get into the Olympics somehow!
