In the first place, it was between the US and New Zealand, but to look at the players, you'd think it was between Africa and Europe. Before it ended, I noticed players on opposing teams laughing and joking together. (At least that's how it appeared; I tend to watch ball games with the sound off.) It's nice when opponents don't hit and curse each other. I think the US won, but they had a considerable heighth advantage.

I don't know who won, either, but it's rather ironic to think of how amazed people get when they experience a friendly game such as that. I feel almost as though many sports have become corrupted by the ever-present gore and vulgarity plaguing them. It gets even worse when coaches run out onto the court, field, etc. screaming obscenities at the officials. How can the coaches expect their teams to be "good sports" when they are contradicting themselves by acting in such a manner? I think it's remarkable and unbelievable when one gets to experience a friendly game such as the one you described. :-)
