Another engine

Did I mention that I had a gasoline engine from a washing machine? Sure, I did. I mention everything. Well, now I have two. When I got back from California, my son-in-law gave me one that had belonged to his father. He said, "I don't know where he got it." Actually, his father (who died of a heat stroke while picking blackberries a couple of years ago)liked anything mechanical and never threw anything away. So it didn't really surprise me when an old Maytage engine showed up. This one is a 1947 model 72D with two horizonally opposed cylinders. It's only about one horsepower and is smaller than the 1932 model 92 Maytag that I've had for a while. Nobody uses gas powered washing machines anymore, but the little engines are really interesting. They look good alongside my old motorscooters. Howard
