Maybe the next Bond movie will take your tastes into account, Howard. How's this for a plot: the world is being held to ransom by an evil antiques dealer. James Bond must travel all over the world to his secret lair, and he gets there on a motor scooter with amazing secret powers provided by Q Division. The villain's evil henchmen catch up with him at a stock car race, but he escapes in a dramatic chase scene by grabbing a vintage bicycle from a nearby yard sale. After he shoots all the bad guys full of holes, he of course gets the beautiful girl, who was employed by the evil antiques dealer to do all his gardening.

If you figure Bond was around 30-35ish back in the 1950s when the original books came out, he'd have to be much older than Howard by now, so I reckon he'd be right into things like gardening and yard sales. I bet they're just looking around for exactly the right actor before they make that movie.
