1982 movie starring Bruce Boxleitner and a surprising number of other people who ended up on Babylon 5. Famous for its special effects, which, rather ironically, were mostly *not* computer-generated.
Large chunks of the movie are set inside a computer system, where the programs (played by the same actors as whichever character programmed them) are attempting to deal with a dictatorial Master Control Program (designed by a power-hungry wossname who, in the real world, the programmers are attempting to deal with).

Actually, I've never seen it either, but I intend to remedy the situation at the first available opportunity.
