When my mom and stepfather moved back to the states, they lived in a hotel room (small suite) for about nine months, trying to find a house in the area to purchase. They had to store their furniture, but had some household items in there -- nothing like paintings for the walls or a stereo system, more like a coffee maker and the standard iron and ironing board.

I would've gone nuts.
