Ok, Ferrick, you asked the question that may have the rest of RinkWork chasing you across the internet. They probably get tired of hearing this.

I'm a retired teacher who was too poor to have a Cushman motorscooter like all the other guy in my high school. I never got over that. Then about seven or eight years ago, I began to think about what I was going to do when I retired. It was a no-brainer if there ever was one. I was going to collect, restore, and even ride Cushman motor scooters. I now have a 1947 Cushman Pacemaker, a 1961 Cushman Highlander, a 1963 Cushman Eagle, a 1956 Allstate made by Cushman and a future project in the form of an engineless 1957 Cushman RoadKing. I even went beyond Cushmans and picked up a Vespa, a Benelli, an Italian Harley, and assorted Hondas. It's a fun hobby. I love poking around in barns and sheds looking for scooters and parts. I also enjoy going to scooter meets and have traveled to Nebraska, Ohio, North Carolina, Indiana, Alabama, and Georgia. I've even attended several here in Tennessee. No, I don't ride them to the meets. I have a pickup and a trailer. I have four trophys and expect to get one or two more at a meet in Alabama next week. I feel really sorry for people who retire and then sit down and wait to die. Retirement is a time to have fun. I feel like working for 40 years (33 as a teacher) means that I have earned a little fun.

You don't happen to have an old rusty scooter out in your shed, do you?
Howard
