They were the brave men who thought they were signing the receipt for the Chinese food they had for lunch--in reality, Ben Franklin slipped them the Declaration of Independance to pad out the list of names in order to make the thing look more official. Few people know there were only actually three people in the Continental Congress--all the rest of the signers were people snookered into signing the thing by the subterfuge of ol' Ben.
