I can't claim to know anything more than Arabic-esque phrases from Dune, but in several fantasy games/novels a "Rukh" is a (very) large bird-might have something to do with "Roc", actually.
Had I kept this to myself, it would probably have been right, but now that I've posted it, it will inevitably be proven wrong. Sigh. Reality is relative.
