The quote, noted for how confusing it is to understand when spoken aloud, is from an old song that dates back -- I'll hazard a guess -- to sometime between the 1900s and the 1920s. Spoken or sung, it sounds like, "Mairzy doats and dozy doats and little lamb zee divy."

I'm not sure if Twin Peaks uses "Kid" instead of "Lamb," or if Diane just misquoted it, but it's "Lamb," because the next line is: "A kiddley divy too, wouldn't you?" translated, "A kid will eat ivy too, wouldn't you?"
