> My wife had that problem and the doctor numbed her nose and removed the offending blood vessel which he said she didn't need anyway. She said it was painless and I don't think she has had a nosebleed since. That was over 40 years ago, so I guess you could say it worked very well.

I had a friend in high school who had nose bleeds all the time, too. She went to the doctor and he "cauterized" her nose. That fixed it.
