Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Handel, Haydn, Strauss, Holst, Saint-Saens, Chopin, DeBussy, Vaughan-Williams, Copland...all greats. This would all be considered "classical" music, except perhaps Copland, who could be considered "modern" as his works were written in the 20th century.

> As far as modern composers go, I'd have to say John Williams takes the cake. After him, James Horner is a close second in my book. I think all the good "classical-style" music nowadays is being written for the cinema. Some of my favorite soundtracks: Star Wars (of course), Indiana Jones, and Superman (all by Williams). Horner has also written some excellent soundtrack music for films like Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, Aliens, Braveheart, and Titanic. Some other soundtracks by various artists that I like: Last of the Mohicans by Trevor Jones, The Princess Bride by Mark Knopfler, Waterworld by James Newton Howard, and the Truman Show. The Truman Show is an oddity because the music was written by at least three different composers, Philip Glass, Burkhard Dallwitz, and Wolciech Kilar.

Speaking of soundtracks, you can't forget the Jurassic Park one.

> Then outside of classical music, I personally enjoy Irish/Celtic music. There's a wide variety of that to choose from to. You can go ethereal with Enya, foot-stomping with the Cheiftains, or listen to a blend of traditional and pop music from Clannad. I also like Celtic harp.

(Oh yeah, Vangelis is another soundtrack composer I really like...he wrote music for movies like Chariots of Fire and Blade Runner. Another good track from him that might not be as well known is Antarctica.)

Yanni is one of my all-time favorite musicians. I'm not a big fan of music videos, but his are an exception. The only thing better is seeing him in concert. I saw about two years ago and, even though I had 'nose-bleed' tickets (meaning that you're so high up, the elevation could give you a nose bleed), the concert was amazing.

> Anyway, that's a synopsis of some of the musical genres that I like to listen to. Guess I rambled again, didn't I? Oh well.
