Hehe. That's pretty accurate, I think, though there's a bit more to it, of course. There's a little on individuality versus alienation and how the importance of every choice and every loss is the same, no matter whether it occurs at the human level, or that of mitochondria, the stars, or beyond. (I think that might have made sense.) Mix in the somewhat (okay, very) surreal qualities most similar to that of "A Wrinkle in Time" and that's probably a little of what "A Wind in the Door" is, or at least what I can remember. I want to read it again, now.
