> You don't see them much anymore, but does anybody know what a trot line is?
Answer: a trot line is a long, stout cord with hooks all along it. You bait them and set it out in the water. After a while you "run" the trot line and get lots of fish. (It says here.) > How about a quiver? Answer: Where an archer carries his arrows. Robin Hood always has one. > Have you ever seen a Deliar? Answer: It is a small combination scale and tape measure that makes it unnecessary for fishermen to lie. It is made by Zebco Corp. It lies unused in the bottom of the tackle box. > If somebody gave you a bamboo Fenwick, what would you have? Answer. You would have a fine, expensive and probably very old fishing rod. Probably a fly rod. > What is a Demascus barrel? (I hope I spelled that right.) Answer: It is an old style shotgun barrel. They were ok when black powder was used, but with smokeless powder, the tend to blow up. They look nice hanging on the wall. It's safer that way. > Would you know how to use a Linotype? Answer; Not unless you are older than you look. It's a typesetting machine that casts lines of type in metal. > When was the last time you saw a bumper jack? Answer: There are still a few of them around, mostly in the trunk of an antique car. You placed it under the bumper to lift the car when you had a flat. Because of the springs, you had to jack it halfway to the moon to get the wheel off the ground. Sometimes the bumper would bend and other times the car fell on you, but other than that, they worked ok. > And who in heck was Moon Mullins? Answer: Yep, he was a comic strip who always wore a derby hat. Circa 1930's. > Howard
